2017 Day of Caring Story
October 2017
It meant so much to me to be a part of Day of Caring for the 2nd year in a row. I volunteered my time at Rundle Elementary and from the moment I drove up to the school grounds, there were welcoming posters hanging all around outside. You could just "feel the warmth" from the kids and teachers appreciation of us being there. Throughout the day, the kids would thank us as they walked by - what a privilege it was to help on their beautification project....to give them a school they could feel proud of (not just inside the walls, but outside as well). It was so evident that Dr. Reese has the love and admiration of her staff and all those precious kids, and the outpour of support was genuinely exhibited by all we had the pleasure of working with on this project. When I started out that morning, all I wanted was to be a blessing to Rundle, but by the end of our project, I had been truly blessed by them. It was a rewarding and humbling experience to give back and one I will always cherish. #RundleRising #DayofCaring
