Drew Brees Foundation Volunteers!

July 2017

A team of 20 volunteers from the Drew Brees Foundation spent the day at Rowe Elementary School to plant a community garden. The crew logged 60 hours, translating into $1,448 worth of community investment.

Ashley's Story

As a CCSD and UNLV graduate, Ashley has seen first-hand what volunteering can do to help build a stronger community. Before joining UWSN, Ashley helped lead outreach activities and marketing initiatives for local organizations like Nevada Connections Academy, Project 150, Communities In Schools and Clark County School District. "I feel like I have the passion and drive to help the community, and it's essential that I use them," says Ashley.

Lois's Story

April 2017

As a college student from humble means, I believe in the value of a quality education to transform a life. I’m a graduating senior at UNLV studying Business Economics, and I am interning here at UWSN with the Social Innovation team. I’m thrilled that I am now contributing to a project aimed at improving academic achievement among the most economically vulnerable in town. I have gotten so much more from this internship than I ever expected, and I will take the skills that I have learned here and the heart for the community I have seen to wherever I land after graduation.

Julie's Story

With over 20 years of experience in education, Julie is supporting directors and teachers in early childhood centers and schools in the Las Vegas valley. UWSN has partnered with several local programs to provide high quality care and learning for children and families through the Nevada Ready! grant. “I am very passionate about supporting teachers and teams in their work providing quality programming for local families.”
